Zion Williamson has returned to the Pelicans after leaving the bubble last week for a family emergency. Zion was tested daily for the virus and tested negative every day, which means he only has to quarantine for four days before returning to the floor. He will most likely be playing in the Pelicans first official game next Thursday vs the Jazz.

This is crucial for the Pelicans who are 3.5 games from the 8th seed which belongs to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Pelicans just need to be within three games from the 8th seed at the end of the season. Then it would force a play in a situation where the 9th seed would need to beat the 8th seed twice in a row to get into the playoffs.

If the Pelicans make the playoffs they would most likely play Lebron and the Lakers who currently hold first place in the Western Conference. We all know the NBA would love to see that matchup, and could easily sell the hell out of it.

Either way, it is exciting to see the rookie, who was averaging 23 points and six rebounds per game return to the bubble in time for the official restart of the season on July 30th.
