In one of the more wild stories of today Jay Bruce shockingly announced his retirement effective immediately after today’s game. 14 games into the 2021 season Bruce was added on to this Yankees roster in the offseason in hopes he could add his lefty swing to Yankee stadium and be a good veteran coming off of the bench.

Coming into Spring Training Jay Bruce lit the world on fire and he won a roster spot and became the starting first basemen after Luke Voit went down with injury. Fourteen games in Jay Bruce has been horrendous batting .118 and playing terrible defense, Yankees Twitter bullied this man into retirement after 14 year career.

It seems like Yankee fans all together are happy that Bruce has announced his retirement and that he will be no longer apart of the team but lets not act like Jay Bruce is the reason the Yankees have had this terrible start to the season. They can’t hit with runners in scoring position, the pitching staff is not and will not be the problem this year the bats have got going yet. With the Yankees having this ‘star studded’ lineup they are going to need to figure things out and quick.

Also Aaron Boone is the biggest schmuck of them all unless he is a puppet for Brian Cashman (which he most likely is) he has not yet had a consist lineup back to back with the same guys in the same spot so there really is no consistency with this ball club. Jay Bruce is not the problem, they may be better off though with him off of the roster. We will have to wait and see. Thanks for nothing Jay!
