WWE NXT results of “Takeover Thirty” from Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University on 8/22/20 live on the WWE Network:

NXT General Manager William Regal greeted Pat McAfee in the parking lot and told him the match vs. Adam Cole will be a singles match to kindly warn him if he had any plans of wanting outside interference. McAfee acted cool and told Regal that there was nothing to worry about.

Tyler Breeze and Fandango won a #1 con. NXT Tag Team Titles 3-Way match over Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch when Breeze pinned Lorcan after a super kick. This was a Kickoff Show match.

Vic Joseph, Corey Graves, and Beth Phoenix are the announcers. Mauro Ranallo is back home in Canada tonight with no explanation given.

Finn Balor pinned Timothy Thatcher after the Coup de Grace and the 1916 DDT. They announcers put over that this is Balor’s 12th NXT Takeover win.

Keith Lee and Mia Yim were shown arriving to the building. WWE Women’s Champions Sasha Banks and Bayley are in the front row.

Damian Priest won the vacant North American Title in a Ladder Match over Cameron Grimes, Bronson Reed, Johnny Gargano, and Velveteen Dream by knocking Gargano off of the ladder to grab the belt. Candice LaRae interfered during the match to try to help Gargano (aka her husband). She pulled Grimes off the ladder and tipped it over so he couldn’t climb back up. She started slapping Grimes until Gargano could ram him with a ladder to the face. Gargano assisted LaRae in giving Grimes a hurricanrana off the ring apron on everyone else on the floor. Later, LaRae climbed on the back of Reed as he was on top of the ladder trying to grab the belt. Reed jumped off the ladder with her still attached to him and splashed Gargano on the mat below.

Keith Lee vacated the title after he won the NXT Championship from Adam Cole on 7/8/20.

Pat McAfee cut an arrogant promo backstage before his match with Adam Cole.

Adam Cole pinned Pat McAfee after the Panama Sunrise. This was a showcase for McAfee despite the loss. He did a swanton off the top rope to the floor as the other members of The Undisputed Era brawled with Darius Butler, Nick Vilardo, and AJ Hawk. Both entourages were ejected from ringside by the referee. McAfee gave Cole a superplex and a punt kick. McAfee was trained by Rip Rogers and previously had a match in IWA East Coast back in 2009.

NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai pinned Dakota Kai after a moonsault. Kai was accompanied to ringside by Raquel Gonzalez. The referee was bumped accidentally by a knee shot from Kai in the corner during the match. Gonzalez entered the ring and gave Shirai a powerbomb and put Kai on top of her for the cover. The referee woke up to count but Shirai kicked out. After the match, Gonzalez briefly attacked Shirai but Rhea Ripley came out and made the save by staring Gonzalez down in the ring. Kai convinced Gonzalez to back off and walk to the locker room. Ripley smiled on the ramp as Shirai was finally able to celebrate the win.

There was a big video promo to hype the return of NXT UK next month. Cesaro was shown in the front row.

New North American Champion Damian Priest politely declined an interview so he could jump in a hot tub with Brandi Lauren and Jayme Jameson with a bottle of champagne.

Karrion Kross won the NXT Championship from Keith Lee after the Doomsday Suplex off of the second rope.
