So Nintendo Switch owners may recall 2K Sports attempting to bring its WWE 2K franchise to the handheld/console hybrid a couple of years ago with WWE 2K18. We say “attempting” loosely because the game was pretty much a trainwreck, with poor visuals and gameplay making it the weakest port of the bunch. As a result, the publisher didn’t even bother with trying to bring WWE 2K19 to the system, instead focusing on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC versions of the game. But for WWE 2K20, which has yet to be confirmed, it looks like it could be trying for a monumental comeback of some kind on the platform.

A recent product listing over on Base.com suggests that WWE 2K20 could be coming to the Nintendo Switch. According to the listing, the product is currently listed for around £49.85 and set for release on October 9. That would be pretty soon-ish, to say the least. And considering that the game hasn’t even been officially announced yet, WWE has some serious catching up to do.

Fortunately, it’s Summerslam season, as tonight’s WWE Raw focused on setting up matches for the forthcoming show on August 11. So before then, we should see some kind of hype for the upcoming game, which looks to arrive sometime in October for various platforms. Around that time, we should get some kind of confirmation about its platforms.

Hopefully, in the two year span between when WWE 2K18 disastrously arrived on the platform and the potential port of WWE 2K20, 2K Sports will have learned its lesson and given us a version that can be played with relative ease on the system, both at home and on the go. After all, the NBA 2K games have gotten better over time, so there’s no reason why the WWE games couldn’t have gone through the same thing. Fingers crossed that we’ll get some sort of confirmation soon, especially if the October 9 release date holds up.

Look for more details on WWE 2K20 soon!
