Now, let’s get into the review…

Location – University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, Arizona

Date – March 28th, 2010

Attendance – 72,219

  • Battle Royal – Yoshi Tatsu defeats Zack Ryder, Primo, Slam Master J, Caylen Croft, Trent Barreta, Chavo Guerrero, Mark Henry, Great Khali, Luke Gallows, JTG, Chris Masters, Tyson Kidd, David Hart Smith, Vladimir Kozlov, Kung Fu Naki, Goldust, Shad Gaspard, William Regal, Tyler Reks, Santino Marella, Jimmy Wang Yang, Vance Archer, Carlito, Finlay and Mike Knox

Headline – Some action for the live audience who showed up early while everyone else was gathering into the arena.

Rating – 1 out of 5

  • WWE Tag-Team Championships – Big Show and The Miz (C) defeat John Morrison and R-Truth

Headline – This was a quick one and the champs would retain after Big Show tagged himself in and knocked Morrison out to get the 3-count for the win.

Rating – 1 out of 5

  • Triple Threat Match – Randy Orton defeats Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase

Headline – The 3 men that previously formed the “Legacy” stable would square off in a triple threat match. Cody and DiBiase teamed up on Orton for the better half of the match, but when DiBiase went for the cover on Orton, Cody broke it up and the 2 began to go at it. Orton would take advantage of them brawling and would punt Cody in the head and hit his patented RKO on DiBiase for the victory.

Rating – 2.9 out of 5

  • Money in The Bank Ladder Match – Jack Swagger defeats Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Evan Bourne, Shelton Benjamin, MVP, Kane, Kofi Kingston, Matt Hardy and Christian

Headline – There were a few very cool spots in this match including Bourne hitting a shooting star press onto Christian from atop the ladder and Swagger getting stuck in-between 2 ladders and Hardy and Christian hitting him with 2 separate ladders. Swagger would win the match when he and Christian were both at the top of a ladder and Swagger hit Christian with the briefcase which caused Christian to fall off of the ladder and Swagger would unhook the briefcase and become Mr. Money in The Bank.

Rating – 3.5 out of 5

  • Singles Match – Triple H defeats Sheamus

Headline – Sheamus had a bit of a showcase for most of this match before Triple H countered a power-bomb into a Pedigree for the win.

Rating – 3 out of 5

  • Singles Match – Rey Mysterio defeats CM Punk (with Luke Gallows and Serena)

Headline – This was a very good match between 2 terrific in-ring workers, it;s a shame they didn’t even get 10 minutes to work. Mysterio would pick-up the victory after getting out of the way of several Gallows and Serena interference attempts when he would hit Punk with the 619 and followed it up with a splash for the 3-count.

Rating – 3.1 out of 5

  • No-Holds-Barred Lumberjack Match (Bruce Hart as Special Guest Referee) – Bret Hart defeats Vince McMahon

Headline – Vince brought out the Hart family and told Bret that he paid his family to turn on him and they’re going to screw Bret. Bret then said his family told him that before the match and now, they’re going to screw Vince. Several members of the Hart family attacked Vince throughout the match and Bret would get the victory when applied the Sharpshooter on Vince, forcing him to tap-out.

Rating – 2 out of 5

  • World Heavyweight Championship – Chris Jericho (C) defeats Edge

Headline – This match was back and forth for the entire time it lasted. Jericho would end up retaining his title after planting a “Code-breaker” on Edge for the 3-count. After the match, Jericho tried to attack Edge but Edge would hit him with a spear through the barricade.

Rating – 4 out of 5

  • 10-Woman Tag-Team Match – Alicia Fox, Layla, Maryse, Michelle McCool and Vickie Guerrero defeat Beth Phoenix, Mickie James, Gail Kim, Eve Torres and Kelly Kelly

Headline – At least we didn’t get some sort of title to this match that involved Playboy for the first time in what seemed like 10 years. Vickie would pin Kelly Kelly to gain the victory for her team.

Rating – 1 out of 5

  • WWE Championship – John Cena defeats Batista (C)

Headline – The pair exchanged a very good back and forth for the majority of the match and Cena would become the new champion after forcing Batista tap-out after applying his STF submission finisher.

Rating – 3 out of 5

  • Singles Match – The Undertaker defeats Shawn Michaels

Headline – After their legendary encounter at last year’s WrestleMania (which Undertaker also won), the 2 would put something on the line, this time. The Undertaker once again had his streak on the line but Michaels said if he can’t beat The Undertaker at WrestleMania, there’s no point in him coming back, therefore putting his career on the line. This match would somehow be on par with their instant-classic, the year before. Trading finisher after finisher and near-fall after near-fall, The Undertaker would end Michael’s career after nailing him with a 3rd jumping Tombstone Pile-driver for the 3-count, After the match, the 2 future Hall of Famers would shake hands and share a hug and Michaels would shake the hands of some fans and thanked the fans at the top of the stage as the show ended.

Rating – 4.7 out of 5

WrestleMania 26 Rating – 3.8 out of 5
