The three day WrestleCade weekend in Winston-Salem, North Carolina will not be taking place in 2020 because of the virus pandemic.

Owners/promoters Tracy Myers and Brian Hawks released a statement late this evening saying there is too much uncertainty and safety concerns. It’s impossible for anyone to guess what the situation would be like in November for the event. The changes in international traveling was also a factor in the decision as pro wrestling fans come to the show from all over the world.

WrestleCade started in 2012 as a pro wrestling fan convention and major indie wrestling “super show” featuring legends and new stars. The name honors the NWA/WCW Starrcade event which took place in the “Mid-Atlantic Wrestling” territory in November 1983, 1984, 1985, and 1986 in Greensboro, North Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina in December 1993. Norfolk, Virginia was the location in December 1988 and 1991.
