In the National League, there are a lot of candidates who are really stepping up their game and performing at MVP level. Kris Bryant, Jesse Winker, Nick Castellanos, Ronald Acuna Jr. just to make a few. While these guys are playing out of their minds, it has to be Jacob DeGrom. Through 10 starts, DeGrom has logged a 0.56 ERA and a 0.53 WHIP. He’s given up 4 earned runs in 64 innings. DeGrom is on track to post the lowest ERA ever since Bob Gibson’s ERA of 1.12 in 1968. This is greatness and everyone should be chomping at the bit to make sure you get to watch DeGrom pitch.

The AL MVP might get a little harder to decide, but to me there’s still one front runner. Xander Bogaerts and Shohei Ohtani are very close runners up, but Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the AL MVP right now. Guerrero leads all of baseball in home-runs, RBI’s, and OPS. Not only is that impressive, he’s hitting .338 while leading the league in all major power statistics. The future is here and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is leading the charge.

Vegas odds have both DeGrom and Guerrero Jr. as favorites. As of right now DeGrom is +180 and Guerrero Jr. is +150. However, since DeGrom is a pitcher and it’ll be extremely difficult to sustain his success, Nick Castellanos and Kris Bryant are +2200 right now, meaning a $20 bet pays out $440. Laying your money down with that good of odds on two guys that are in serious contention to win is too good to pass up.
