Mr. Billy Locks here,
My first blog for PSE. I hope to bring some good content to the site. Let’s get right into it and start off with some week 9 NFL picks.
+18.9 units on the NFL year.
Against the spread:
Chiefs -9.5
The Chiefs are playing the Carolina Panthers. It’s hard to bet against Teddy Bridgewater, king of covering the spread, but I feel like Patrick Mahomes in a noon spot covers the 9.5 point spread against the Panthers. Easy Sunday noon game for the Chiefs, I see them covering this game without many eyes watching.
Saints +4.5
Tom Brady has shown this year that he’s not washed up quite yet. Although I think he’s shown a lot of skill so far this year, I see this as a great spot for the New Orleans Saints to make a stand. I’m not sure they’ll win, but I do believe they’ve got the strength to cover. Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders look to be back for the Saints which is huge for them. I won’t predict a Saints win but look for them to cover the +4.5 spread.
Raiders +1.5
Raiders against the Chargers this week. I feel as if this spread is a bit misleading. The Raiders should be the obvious favorites against the Los Angeles Chargers team. 4-3 against 2-5 with the Chargers fresh off a loss to the Broncos. It’s a distracting line, but I feel like the Raiders, who beat the Chiefs just a few weeks ago, should at least cover this line against the Chargers.
Washington Football Team -3
I almost have no reasoning for this pick. I kind of go with the notion that betting against the New York Giants is always a good idea, but they did play decent in their prime time spot last week. I’d be cautious with Washington -3, I just favor them in this spot because, well… it’s the Giants..
Ravens -1.5
It’s the goddamn Ravens for crying out loud. They might have barely beaten the Eagles and then lost to the Steelers in the last couple weeks, but this is a team led by Lamar Jackson. They love to beat up on the bad teams and play alongside the good teams. I believe the Colts are better on paper than they actually are and think the Ravens are the sure bet here.
Parlay bets (2-1 in the last 2 weeks):
Moneyline parlay
- Titans -295
- Cardinals -210
- Patriots -480
- Texans -295
- Buccaneers -220
This seems a bit too obvious which makes it seem like a for sure loss, but I like these matchups to at least take the win (moneyline). 1 unit to win 3.65. +365
Anytime TD parlay:
- Alvin Kamara -115
- Stefon Diggs +115
- Travis Kelce -105
- Keenan Allen +115
- James Robinson -125
I won a 5 leg anytime TD scorer parlay last week so I have to come back with one this week. Alvin Kamara (-115) hasn’t scored a touchdown in 3 weeks. He is the #1 fantasy running back and a huge part of the Saints offense and is most definitely due to score. Stefon Diggs hasn’t seen the endzone in 2 weeks and is facing a weak Seahawks defense. Travis Kelce, the #1 fantasy TE is facing a middle of the pack defense, this is more of a gut feeling that he’ll find the endzone. Keenan Allen, who caught a touchdown last week, is questionable but is a top target for the emerging QB Justin Herbert. James Robinson is a man that came out of nowhere and has dominated his role with the Jags. He plays the 29th ranked run defense in Houston this week, look for him to get a TD.
This is a +2937 parlay so don’t put too much thought into it.
YTD NFL Results: 37-42 +18.99u
