2020’s 8th edition of the Wednesday Night War between NXT & AEW is upon us with NXT taking place as always at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida & AEW Dynamite emanating from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. AEW has had a clean sweep over their rivals in 2020, winning 7 straight weeks in the ratings battle to start the 2020 calendar year. However, NXT is coming off arguably the best Pro Wrestling PPV of the year, thus far, in the form of last Sunday’s NXT TakeOver: Portland event which can only help them in their hope to secure their first ratings win in 2 months.

Let’s see what each show has in store for us, tonight with all of the announced matches & segments…

AEW Dynamite Preview

  • Steel Cage Match – Cody (with Arn Anderson) vs Wardlow (with MJF)

Preview – Last month, MJF told Cody that he must adhere to several stipulations or he won’t grant him a match at AEW Revolution. The 1st stipulation was Cody cannot touch MJF from that night, up until the PPV, February 29th. Which Cody has obliged, thus far. The 2nd was, Cody must take 10 lashings via a belt on live television which Cody endured, last week. The final stipulation was Cody must face Wardlow in a Steel Cage match on AEW Dynamite…which takes place, tonight. Will Cody get through the brutal, final stipulation & finally get his hands on MJF or will MJF get the last laugh & not have to face his former mentor at all?

  • AEW World Tag-Team Championships – Kenny Omega & Hangman Page (C) vs The Lucha Brothers (Rey Fenix & Pentagon Jr)

Preview – Kenny Omega & Hangman Page’s AEW Tag-Team Titles are on the line when they face one of the best tag-team’s in the world in The Lucha Brothers. Will Fenix & Pentagon secure the only major titles in the world they haven’t yet held or will Omega & Page put their differences aside yet again & walk into AEW Revolution as tag-team champions?

  • Jon Moxley vs Jeff Cobb

Preview – 10 days out from his AEW World Championship match against reigning champion, Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley takes on Jericho’s newest goon, Jeff Cobb, who makes his promotional debut. Will Moxley have the momentum heading into the big title match in less then 2 weeks or will “Le Champion’s” backup once again get the upper-hand against Mox?

  • # 1 Contender’s Tag-Team Battle Royal Young Bucks vs Santana & Ortiz vs So Cal Uncensored vs Hybrid 2 vs Private Party vs Alex Reynolds & John Silver vs Best Friends vs Stronghearts vs Jurassic Express vs The Butcher & The Blade

Preview – This 10-team tag-team Battle Royal will determine the # 1 contender’s to the AEW World Tag-Team Championships at the AEW Revolution PPV, February 29th.

NXT Preview

  • Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa Fallout

Preview – Tommaso Ciampa seemingly has “Goldie” back in his possession, last Sunday then his former bestfriend & teammate, Johnny Gargano blasted him with the NXT Championship which resulted in champion, Adam Cole covering Ciampa to retain his title. Will Gargano address his actions? Will Ciampa seek to get revenge?

  • Velveteen Dream vs Roderick Strong

Preview – Out of action since October, Velveteen Dream will make his in-ring return against Roderick Strong as their very personal rivalry boils over, tomorrow night as the pair finally gets their hands on each other.

  • NXT Cruiserweight Championship – Jordan Devlin (C) vs Lio Rush

Preview – NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Jordan Devlin will make his first title defense, tonight against the former Champion, Lio Rush in what promises to be the best match of the night in any company.

  • Chelsea Green (with Rob Stone) vs Kayden Carter

Preview – Two weeks ago, Kayden Carter picked up a victory over Chelsea Green. As the Rob Stone Brand looks to relaunch, Green would love nothing more then to start that new beginning with a win on NXT TV over her new rival, Carter.

Tonight’s NXT vs AEW battle will be absolute must-watch televsion as both shows have STACKED cards & segments. We can’t wait for the shows.
