In an emotional video message on Twitter, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier has announced his retirement from playing football.
Shazier was part of the Steelers team since he was drafted in the first round back in 2014.
He also had a respectable, brief career with Pittsburgh until his horrific spinal injury at Cincinnati in 2017. For those who don’t remember how it happened, here’s the clip of Shazier’s injury.
Given a 20% chance of walking again, Shazier since is recovering and rehabbing progressively from his injury and did consider playing football again.
On behalf of all of us here at PSE, we wish Ryan the best of luck on his future and hopefully to continue recovering fully from that injury.
