It’s surprising these things don’t happen more often in hockey. We’ve seen the likes of Clint Malarchuck and Richard Zednik slice their necks open on the ice in 1989 and 2008, respectively. Outside of those two incidents, it’s rare to see hockey players nearly bleed out on the ice. Given the high speed and physical nature of the game, it’s very fortunate these are mostly isolated incidents.

Hopefully Tucker Tynan can recover quickly and get back to playing the game he loves.
