On Tuesday’s game between the Islanders and Canadians, a scary incident occurred when Islanders defenseman, Johnny Boychuk, caught the skate of Canadians left winger, Artturi Lehkonen on the left side of his face.

As scary as this is, what might make it worst is how close the blade came to Boychuk’s eye. You can obviously see it get extremely close to his eye and when he skates off the ice, he has his hand over his eye. I’ve put a more clear video below so you can see the full incident and Boychuk rushing off to the locker room.

This folks, is why I only play roller hockey. Wheels can’t cut your face. Also, I have no idea how to skate on ice at all but can inline skate just fine. Hopefully, this incident isn’t as bad as it looked and Boychuk can make a quick recovery, and be back on the ice soon.
