Bing-bong. The New York Knicks had their first match-up with the Atlanta Hawks this season since last years first round exit. This time the Knicks pulled off an impressive 99-90 victory to end the Hawks 7 game winning streak.

Also, in those seven games the Hawks have averaged 122 points per game and the Knicks defense which has been bad all year held them to under a hundred points. The effort on defense was very present tonight the young-guns were active and kept the Hawks (minus Trae Young) uncomfortable.

If you are Coach Thibs you have to feel good about this one because this team has played really bad defense this year compared to last season when they were one of the best defenses in all of the NBA.

The Knicks came into this game without D-Rose, Kemba, Taj Gibson, and Nerlens Noel so they were certainly short handed. That did not matter, they got a big game out of Alec Burks who made the start, scoring 23 points and leading the offense late in the game.

It was also nice tonight to see that Thibs was messing with the lineups and rotations to see what is working and what is not. It was nice to see Jerchio Sims and Quentin Grimes out there in particular because they have not seen the floor much this season.

With how the Knicks have played up until this point you would have to think that Thibs is going to have to incorporate them in the rotation more often while also giving Immanuel Quickley and Obi Toppin more minutes off the bench as well.

As always fuck Trae Young, go Knicks and they will see their ugly step brother the Brooklyn Nets this Tuesday.
