In an attempt to garner new viewership WWE has introduced the Bran-To-Brand Invitational. The new format is akin to the Wildcard rule that the company utilized to poor effect last year.

The Invitational began on last night’s RAW as King Corbin took part in a losing battle against WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.

According to Michael Cole, Superstars will be able to appear for their rival brand up to 4 times per year. That’s the rules of the new Invitational, but will WWE stick to these? Unlikely.

The rules will also only apply to RAW and SmackDown, NXT Superstars will not be making appearances on the ‘main roster’ shows under this rule.
