Update On Phillies Pitcher Ranger Suarez

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ranger Suarez left last night’s game after he was hit a line drive off the bat of St. Louis Cardinals batter Alec Burleson in the second inning.

Suarez left the game. The Phillies went on to beat the Cardinals 6-1 for their MLB best 41 wins.

The X-rays taken on Suarez’s injury came back negative. “Everything is good,” Suárez said after the game.

The Phillies will have to see if swelling on Suarez’s pitching hand will go down, before he can make his next start.

This is good news for the Phillies, as they cannot afford to lose Suarez. He is off to the best season of his career, with a record of 9-1 and a 1.70 ERA in 12 starts.
