During Thursday night’s tilt againt the London Knights, Niagra Icedogs goalie Tucker Tynan was cut on his quad by a Knight’s player crashing into him. If you haven’t seen the video, you can see it here. Warning, it’s gross.

The team updated us with some great news yesterday:

A “completely torn quad” as a result of being cut from a hockey skate simply doesn’t sound like a good time. I can only imagine the pain Tucker must have felt in that moment on the ice. Tucker seemed to be in good spirits after his surgery.

Best of luck to Tucker in his road to recovery. Hopefully he’ll be back between the pipes soon.

PS: Shoutout to the trainers and medical staff on duty that night. Unfortunately, they work a mostly thankless job and are usually only praised when something catastrophic happens. They got Tucker off the ice and off to the hospital in only 10 minutes. Credit to them for all they do.
