Ostman (#95)

An Upper Peninsula native and NFL player is set to perhaps see his first action in a regular season game this upcoming Sunday afternoon.

It was announced on social media Saturday that defensive end and St. Ignace/Mackinaw City native Joe Ostman has been elevated from the practice squad and will be making his NFL debut against the Cleveland Browns.

Before landing in Philadelphia, Ostman was a four-year standout at Central Michigan University. His key achievements include when he led the nation with 14 sacks in the 2017 season with the Chippewas, finishing his career with 27 total.

He was also an exceptional all-around athlete at St. Ignace La Salle High School. As written from MaxPreps.com, Ostman finished his high school career with 84 total tackles, two interceptions and fumble recoveries, and a touchdown. Ostman has also scored an offensive touchdown in his career at St. Ignace.

Ostman also was a three-time Individual state champion in wrestling and ran track and field for four years.
