The Twins look to rule the AL Central a third straight year, but this time by Law and order as they have agreed to a contract with Derek Law. The terms of the contract are not available just yet but it is presumed to be of a minor league pact.

The aforementioned minor league pact makes since, as the thirty year old didn’t pitch in 2020. He was stellar in 2016 as a Giant, posting a 2.13 ERA in 55 innings of work. Since, he’s progressively regressed, as in 2017 he posted an ERA of 5.06 and in 2018 he posted an ERA of 7.43. In 2019, he went to Toronto and posted a 4.9 ERA in 58 appearances.

He did not pitch in 2020, even though he was featured in the 60-player pool of the Texas Rangers. He does have a strong 9.9 K/9 since 2017, which shows strong strikeout numbers. He has struggled with the walks (5.9 BB/9) and hitters are hitting to a .276 average against him, meaning those who reach from other means are more likely to score. He’s also seemed to run into some bad luck, having a career FIP lower than his career ERA.
