In a far from shocking turn of events, Trevor Bauer has turned down a Qualifying Offer from the Reds.

Trevor Bauer, a finalist for the NL Cy Young Award, is a pending free agent. He has been extended the 1-year/$18.9M QO to hit the open market, per his agent Rachel Luba. He has been vocal about listening to any and all offers as well as on how ignorant the QO process is.

Bauer was stellar in 2020 though and looks to command a big contract as he’s by far the best starting pitcher on the open market. In 2018, he broke out with a 2.21 ERA for the Indians in 175 innings of work. Yet, it was his 2020 as a Red that he really shined. His 1.73 ERA was the best in baseball.
