Reason – Asuka, winner of the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble, challenged Charlotte to a match for her SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 34, later that year. Asuka was new on the main roster after being NXT Women’s Champion from April 1st, 2016 until August 24th, 2017 when she relinquished the NXT Title after breaking her collarbone then moving on to the main roster where she remained undefeated until this match where Charlotte defeated her via submission. Reason – The lone bright spot of one of the worst WWE PPV events in nearly 5 years, was the opening match of the evening. The best Women’s Hell in a Cell match in history. It was only the 2nd one, but it will be the best ever, for years to come, no matter how many more happen in the near future. These 2 ladies must of known this show would be lack-luster because they knew they could steal the show & did just that. This was easily one of the best Women’s matches of 2019, if not for the WrestleMania 35 main event, it would have been the best.
