“Respect for calling me out, but ain’t no way I’m getting bested.

Y’all look just like your mugshots, how was it getting arrested?”

~John Cena, 8:07PM ET, July 22nd 2019

On the Raw Reunion show last week, John Cena indirectly referenced a run-in with Detroit Law Enforcement where Jimmy Uso was arrested for disorderly conduct in February of this year.  Little did Cena know that no less than six hours after his “diss” Jimmy Uso would be arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) near Tampa, FL.  Talk about foreshadowing…

The WWE Universe has been waiting for the past week to see if any punishment would be handed down by the WWE.  What was their response? …crickets.

The official statement released by the WWE said that “Jonathan Fatu (Jimmy Uso) is responsible for his own personal actions.”  Well, it seems like Fatu will be just fine posting his $1000 bail bond, seeing as WWE booked the Usos in last night’s Monday Night Raw main event angle involving the O.C, Drew McIntyre, Cedric Alexander, Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns.

All signs point to the Usos being booked for some sort of match at SummerSlam on August 11th in Toronto, Canada.  But the question remains, is the WWE handling this situation properly?

Believe it or not, Jimmy Uso would be suspended within the rules of the XFL, so Vince McMahon is clearly aware of how devastating a hit drunk driving is on public relations.  And with WWE’s anti-bullying program, Be A Star, being heavily promoted throughout the years, we know Vince wants a positive public image for his product.

But as the Wu-Tang Clan said, “Cash Rules Everything Around Me.”  The WWE has made their desire to have as high of a profit as possible their top priority.  They have done the math and counted the cost; the financial hit of removing the Usos from their current angle is not worth the potential public relations backlash of no suspension.

Vince McMahon, you have shown your hand time and time again, so please stop trying to convince us of anything else.  You run a sports entertainment company.  It is not a non-profit organization that cares about bettering the world.  We are not a family, like you had Steve Austin promote hours before this incident.  If these things were truly the case, you would have handled this situation differently.  You would have shown you cared about the lives of not only innocent people, but Jonathan Fatu as well.

Vince, you are here for the money.  If the WWE Universe were to boycott your product because of Jimmy Uso’s reckless decision making, you would cut bait immediately.  You only do “P.R. stunts” when they are convenient to you.  I have nothing more to say other than today, I am not proud to be a fan of the WWE.
