It was announced as a Facebook event that now-baseball player and former college and professional football standout Tim Tebow, along with his foundation, will host a birthday fundraiser on the athlete’s 32nd birthday (Wednesday, August 14th).

In a video posted by the Tim Tebow Foundation on Facebook, the athlete, college football analyst, and all-around good guy is asking viewers for donations and for their support to the Tebow CURE children’s hospital.

Tebow, who now plays outfielder for the New York Mets’ affiliate team, the Syracuse Mets, also said in the video that he has held the birthday fundraiser last year as well.

“These are kids who without us being there, they wouldn’t be helped, there wouldn’t be love, and they wouldn’t be cared for,” he said in the video. “If there is anyway that I would like to celebrate, it’s a way to celebrate by helping people in their darkest hour of need.”

“That’s a true celebration,” he added.

Tebow’s goal of the fundraiser to fund over 150 surgeries over in the country of The Philippines.

The foundation has a donation tab set up and is set for the goal to reach $150,000 in the fundraiser.
