The Lions Hire Rams Director of College Scouting, Brad Holmes, As New General Manager

There it is, the announcement. The Lions have a new general manager and it is Brad Holmes. Holmes has been with the Rams since 2003. Holmes started as a public relations intern in 2003 and the following year he became a scouting assistant in 2004. He has been the director of college scouting since 2013.

I know this isn’t what everyone had in mind. Everyone in Detroit wanted Ed Dodds, the Colts assistant general manager. You have to be somewhat optimistic on the hire of Holmes, considering the Rams drafting recently. The Rams are in the playoffs for the third time in four years, and Holmes played heavily in the decision to draft Aaron Donald after the Lions passed on Donald.

Now we wait to see who the coach is.
