The last time the Lions were slated seventh was 2007. With the seventh pick the Lions selected Roy Williams, wide receiver from Texas. Roy Williams rookie season was up and down, he sat franchise records with 54 receptions for 817 yards and eight touchdowns in 12 games but suffered an ankle injury midway through the season. Williams’ best season for the Lions was in 2006, catching for 1,310 yards on 82 receptions for seven touchdowns, averaging 16.0 yards-per-catch. He led the NFC in receiving yards and was an alternate for the Pro Bowl. Becoming the first Lion to play in the pro bowl since Herman Moore in 1998. Williams played for the Lions in 2007, but in October in 2008, the Lions traded Williams to the Cowboys for a first, third, and sixth round pick in he 2009 draft.

Wouldn’t shock me if the Lions once again took a wide receiver in this spot. One day away.
