In a situation some are hailing as heroic and others calling a classic case of ratfinkery, 18-year-old Jackson Reffitt appeared on Chris “Don’t Call me Fredo” Cuomo’s CNN show, Cuomo Prime Time to explain why he ratted on his old man, one Guy Reffitt.

According to Newsweek:

Jackson Reffitt, who is 18-years-old, spoke to CNN‘s Chris Cuomo on Friday about his decision to turn in his father, Guy Reffitt, for his role in the riot and threatening his family by saying “traitors get shot.”

Jackson talked to Chris about why he did what he did:

“I don’t really know how to explain it,” Reffitt said. “It was just, it just felt like the right thing regardless of my emotions and how I felt and how much I loved my family and my dad. I was worried.

“I didn’t think he would actually do anything bad. But him saying anything even remotely threatening to me and my sister and my family and government officials, it was just too much.”

While most people are familiar with the saying “snitches get stitches,” it’s unclear what the parental discipline policy is for turning your mom or dad in to the police. No word if the 18-year-old rat concerned citizen was inspired by The Whitest Kids You Know song, “Get a New Daddy”
