Kelly Holstine a teacher from Minnesota was honored for teacher of the year before the National Championship just a couple days ago.

One thing that wasn’t mentioned was her kneeling for the National Anthem during the same event that President Donald Trump was attending. What a move!

Her post to Twitter read: “Honored as State Teachers of the Year at NCAA Champ FB Game. Given platform to stand up for marginalized and oppressed people. Like many before, I respectfully kneeled during Nat’l Anthem because, “No one is free until we are all free” (MLK)”

In April 2019, she was one of the two Teachers of the Year who skipped the White House ceremony.

She is also the first LGBTQ teacher to receive the award.

Congrats, Teach!!!
