A suspect has been apprehended after running through a stop sign and hitting a mail carrier car in Tapiola (a town in southern Houghton County) just recently.

Kevin Heikkinen posted on Facebook surveillance footage from Karvakko’s Market of a bright blue, single cab pickup truck running through the stop sign and striking the bright green mail carrier Jeep. The driver fled the scene of the crash immediately.

In the footage pictures above, the truck was believed to be going at about 40 to 45 miles per hour (mph) heading up North Lake Road, and it didn’t show down at an intersection.

Heikkenen would later post an update that the person driving the truck was pulled over and taken into custody by the police.

The driver’s name has not been released to the public as of yet.
