In a post by Edion E. Bajraktari to Facebook group, Abandoned and Haunted World, a century-old shipwreck site was discovered in Lake Superior recently.

The ship, named as ‘Gunilda,’ was found in the depths of the lake, and appeared to be preserved in perfect condition upon discovery.

Gunilda before its sinking

According to Bajraktari, the ship was a steel-hulled, Scottish-built steam yacht that was in service from the late 1890s to its sinking in 1911.

Though he did mention that the ship was found beneath Lake Superior, Edion didn’t say where exactly the shipwreck site was at in his post.

If it was discovered near Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, it would be a very cool deal for Yooper shipwreck enthusiasts out there. Looked like a stellar ship before its sinking otherwise.
