Doctors said that he was given a 20% chance on walking, let alone playing football again. But Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier decided to show off his great progress just 20 months after his injury.
Before Sunday’s preseason game against the Tennessee Titans, Shazier was seen in a video catching passes and throwing them to coaches out on the field during warmups.

To refresh of how the injury happened, Shazier originally suffered a severe back/spinal injury which left the former Ohio State standout with the inability to feel his legs.
Just shortly after it occurred, he had to undergo spinal stabilization treatments to regain feeling again.
Let’s just say that with the great feat of progress and the endless support that he has gotten from the team, coaches, and fans, it has symbolized how much he has overcome with the great strides.
And just think maybe—just maybe—we can see Shazier back out there in the Steelers #50 jersey playing football again.
