STARDOM News: Vacant Titles To Be Decided In July On Big Events

Spread the love

There was a lot of news and notes released by STARDOM today as they seem to be back up and running with a regular schedule after the virus pandemic caused so much disruption. The company also had to deal with the sudden retirement of Arisa Hoshiki due to injuries and the tragic death of Hana Kimura this year.

The Future Of STARDOM Title was vacated by Utami Hayashishita on 2/16/20 after she defeated Saya Kamitani. She said she wanted to move up to focus on being a contender to the Wonder of STARDOM Title and the World of STARDOM Title.

Arisa Hoshiki relinquished the Wonder of STARDOM Title when she retired on 5/20/20. Her last defense of it was on 2/8/20 in a win over Bea Priestley.

STARDOM will have a major event on 7/17/20 at Korakuen Hall to fill in the vacant title pictures. A mini tournament will be held for the Wonder Title with Giulia vs. Konami, and Tam Nakano vs. Natsuko Tora. The winners of those two matches will square off in the finals on 7/26 back at Korakuen Hall. There will also be a 3-Way Match for the Future Of STARDOM Title on 7/17 with Maika vs. Saya Kamitani vs. Saya Iida.

Other matches on 7/17/20 are: Mayu Iwatani and Starlight Kid vs. Momo Watanabe and AZM, Syuri and Himeka vs. Jungle Kyona and Death Yama-San, Saki Kashima and Sumire Natsu vs. Utami Hayashishita and Riho, and Hina vs. Rina.

World of STARDOM Champion Mayu Iwatani will defend the title against Jungle Kyona on the 7/24 show in Nagoya. They’re pushing it as a big deal because it’s in Kyona’s hometown and she’s always been an underrated favorite with STARDOM fans.

Also announced for that show is: Giulia, Maika, Himeka, and Syuri vs. Momo Watanabe, Utami Hayashishita, AZM, and Saya Kamitani, Riho and Tam Nakano vs. Natsuko Tora and Sumire Natsu, Konami vs. Saya Iida, and Starlight Kid vs. Saki Kashima vs. Death Yama-San.

Guila, Maika, and Syuri will defend the Artists of STARDOM Title against Natsuko Tora, Sumire Natsu, and Saki Kashima in Osaka on 7/23.

Announced for the rest of that show is: Mayu Iwatani and Tam Nakano vs. Jungle Kyona and Konami, Himeka vs. Saya Kamitani, Death Yama-San vs. AZM, and Momo Iwatani and Utami Hayashishita vs. Starlight Kid and Saya Iida.

There will be a rare defense of the High Speed Title as Riho defends against Starlight Kid and AZM in a 3-Way Match on the 7/26 show. Momo Watanabe vs. Maika is a third match announced for that card so far.
