The lone Upper Peninsula team in the Iron Mountain Mountaineers, may have lost in the MHSAA State Boys Basketball Finals earlier Saturday afternoon, but one of their players shared a cool moment after their loss.

Via a tweet by Mid Michigan Now sports reporter and director Jonathan Deutsch, Iron Mountain senior Foster Wonders stopped by to congratulate and exchange handshakes and hugs to their opponents in the Flint Beecher Bucs on his way to a press conference postgame.

Though Iron Mountain lost 75-47 to the Bucs, he would be listed as finalist for Michigan’s Mr. Basketball honors.

Wonders would wrap up his career finishing with 13 points on the afternoon, cementing his career as one of the top scorers in U.P. Boys basketball history.

A cool gesture by Wonders here as he shares a moment with the opposing team and their head coach Mike Williams, who offered a lot of praise towards the Iron Mountain High School star.

After graduating from high school, Wonders will be continuing his basketball playing career at Southern Illinois University later this year.
