While the game itself was entertaining and a fun spectacle, the overall fan experience was anything but. The venue for the NHL’s Stadium Series in Colorado was vastly overbooked and parking was a nightmare for fans who paid hundreds and hundreds to attend the outdoor event. Unfortunately, things were so bad that a man even lost his life while trying to get back to his parked car.

As the article notes, the man apparently fell from a bridge just west of the venue.

What should have been a fun celebration of the game of hockey in it’s natural outdoor state, has ended in tragedy. Many are blaming the NHL for hosting the event at the Air Force Academy’s football stadium, which was not equipped to handle such a big event.
