According to a Facebook post, one fan saw NBA Hall-of-Famer Shaquille O’Neal and expressed condolences to him after the deaths of his former Los Angeles Lakers teammate Kobe Bryant from Sunday and his sister last year, and he got a nice gesture back in return.

The fan, Patrick Martin, was at that Best Buy in McDonough, Georgia to buy a laptop and told Shaq personally he was sorry for his losses. But what happened next, was completely unexpected to him.

For those who don’t remember, Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others were all killed on board a helicopter when it crashed alongside a mountain in Calabasas, a subarb outside of Los Angeles.

O’Neal also lost his sister, Ayesha Harrison-Jex, to cancer just a couple months prior. She was just 40 years old. Sometimes offering someone a good condolence goes a long way, and in this case, they’ll get treated well back.
