Just a couple weeks removed after chief meteorologist Karl Bohnak was fired due to his refusal of the COVID-19 vaccine per new company policies, one of the more beloved news anchors and reporters is also leaving Upper Peninsula of Michigan’s WLUC TV6.
Via her TV6 Facebook page, Sarah Blakely has announced that she is no longer employed as anchor at the news station. This time, it’s for a couple reasons.
Blakely has stated in the post shown below that the reasons why she left is not just because of her refusal of the vaccine, but it was due to a ‘toxic environment’ and TV6’s ‘mishandling of sexual harassment by (then-backup meteorologist and reporter) Shawn Householder.’
As stated by Blakely, Householder was fired back in July for yelling at another female employee at the studio, including making a comment to that employee that he’ll ‘give her a titty twister.’ There’s also an active arrest warrant against Householder for going to her house uninvited.
This is such a sad story that happened to Sarah, and this is also part of TV6’s ongoing shuffling of positions that has turned heads for all Yoopers watching these newscasts lately.
Something weird is going on over at TV6, and these stories are very concerning due in part that they’re coined as ‘Upper Michigan’s News Source.’ Hope it all gets straightened out soon.
UPDATE: Blakely’s post was taken down by Facebook due to violation of ‘Community Standards on harassment and bullying.’
