Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 1.
Barkley had 24 carries for 109 yards with 2 rushing touchdowns and 2 catches 23 yards with a receiving touchdown in the Eagles week 1 victory over the Green Bay Packers.
Barkley became the first Eagles player to score three touchdowns in their debut with the team since Terrell Owens in 2004.
This was Barkley’s debut with the Eagles, after spending his first six years with the New York Giants.
Barkley was the second overall pick of 2018 NFL draft by the Giants. He is a two-time Pro Bowler and was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2018.
The Eagles face the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night. It will be Barkley’s first game at Lincoln Financial Field as a member of the Eagles.
