This Friday, October 22, Atlantic City’s longest-running MMA Promotion, Lou Neglia’s Ring of Combat is making its return, and it’s coming back with a bang. This card has 13 fights, and three title bouts, and each fight features some of the hottest prospects the sport has to offer.

Ring of Combat has earned the reputation of being the “American Idol” of MMA because if you show out in ROC, you’re gonna get signed to the sport’s most prestigious promotions. Ring of Combat has produced over 150 UFC fighters, and 6 UFC champions, so when you’re watching an ROC card, you’re watching the future of the sport.

Dennis Buzukja vs Michael Lawrence

In the main event of the evening, we’ve got a bout that promises to be five rounds of all-out actions. Dennis Buzukja is taking on Michael Lawrence for the Ring of Combat Featherweight title, and this fight may very well be the fight of the night. A four fight ROC veteran, Buzukja is looking to claim gold in his first ever career main event. But, stanidng across is crafty veteran Michael Lawrence, who’s looking to parlay his 6 years of professional MMA experience into an ROC title.

Hailing out of the east coast MMA staple LAW MMA, Dennis Buzukja is looking to be the next man in a long list of Serra/Longo MMA fighters to claim gold in Ring of Combat. Buzukja touts an impressive 5-2 record, at only 24 years old, remains a prime candidate for the UFC to bring in. With a Ring of Combat title belt wrapped around his waist, Dennis very well may be in line for a call from UFC brass.

And Dennis’ opponent, Michael ‘Sho’Nuff’ Lawrence is certainly not one to be overlooked as well. Lawrence is a veteran of the sport, with 6 years of pro experience and a 7-5 record, a Ring of Combat title would be a great accolade for what has been an already storied career.

When comparing the resume’s, there’s no doubt that Buzukja is the on-paper favorite coming into this one. But, Dennis is coming off a broken collarbone, so you never know if that will play a role in his performance, especially in the early rounds. It’s clear that both of these guys have a ton on the line, and a win at Ring of Combat 74 will certainly take both of their careers to the next level. You do not want to miss this fight.
