In the first big trade of the offseason, the Rockies have sent Major League righty Jeff Hoffman and prospect Case Williams to the Reds for fellow Big League righty Robert Stephen son and outfield prospect Jameson Hannah.

Hannah is 23 years of age and was the main return for Tanner Roark in 2019, while Stephenson has posted a 5.15 ERA over five seasons. Hannah is the main piece, as there’s nothing to suggest that Stephenson could find success in Denver’s thin air and even more hitter friendly confines at Coors than Great American Ballpark.

Jeff Hoffman is the is the main piece going to the Reds, but has also been rather underwhelming over his Big League career with an ERA over six, albeit playing at Coors Field. Williams, a pitcher, was Colorado’s fourth round pick in 2019.
