We football fans know about the famous trade between he and the Detroit Lions in exchange with the Los Angeles Rams for Jared Goff and future draft capital, but footage shows that he has no hard feelings for Detroit after the trade.

As heard in the video below being mic’d up, Stafford was interacting with his former teammates during a timeout in action. You can hear Stafford say to the Lions defense (specifically secondary) that he is rooting for them to be successful.

“You guys are playing good in the back end,” Stafford said to Lions safety Will Harris (#25). “Keep fighting, you know what I mean? I’m pulling for you guys—big time.”

Stafford also gave his good praise towards Goff, who’s currently winless with the Lions, telling him to hang in there and keep grinding.

Signs of a true leader and class act, even if he is now in a different uniform.

And let’s say Lions fans are wishing the same in return for Stafford. Yes, he could not win a ring in Detroit, he has great odds to win one in LA with the team he’s on. Bring one home Matthew, he deserves all the good luck his way.
