If there has ever been a year for quarterback controversy in the NFL, the offseason leading up to opening kick off in 2021 has been quite a tumultuous one. It seems like many times have been going through a QB controversy, but is it any different in Denver?

With Drew Lock being the suspected starter, it was a bit surprising that the Broncos ended up signing veteran quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. They also have Brian Rypien in the third string slot.

But two days ago, Denver made another signing bringing the QB total for the Broncos up to 4 now. Denver signed 2020 undrafted free agent Case Cookus. He played for Northern Arizona, and appeared in 41 career games for the Lumberjacks, compiling 12,032 yards, 105 touchdowns, and 24 interceptions on 892-of-1431 passing (62%). He added six TDs on the ground across five seasons.

What does this mean for Rypien and Bridgewater? One would assume that Bridgewater would continue to be the 2nd string and Cookus and Rypien will fight it out for the third slot.

The Denver Broncos made a huge groundbreaking hire for their organization in the front office. Kelly Kleine, who has spent the past decade with the Minnesota Vikings was brought on board with the Broncos earlier this week. She thought to be the highest ranking female front office in the NFL.
