Today, Sunday March 8th, we have our final stop on the road to WrestleMania 36. Being as it will be my second WrestleMania, I’m rather excited to just get right through a seemingly filler Elimination Chamber event. However, judging by our success when I did a prediction thread 8 days ago for AEW Revolution, we figured we’d do it again for Elimination Chamber and every pay-per-view from here on out. While I expect something to be added to the rather predictable, lackluster card at the last minute ala vintage WWE, for this we’re only working with what we have announced for the event, which you can watch for $9.99 on the WWE Network.

Daniel Bryan vs Drew Gulak

Jameus Mooney: I am very excited for this matchup. I think Drew Gulak is one of the most underrated wrestlers on the planet. Everything the dude touches turns to gold, whether it be a no fly zone on a show full of Cruiserweights to him getting over a PowerPoint presentation on national television. He oozes personality and when the bell rings, there is very few better workers. Daniel Bryan may be the best worker since Shawn Michaels, so if WWE gives them time, they can have the match of the year. But, it’s WWE so we’ll see. Since his return, Daniel Bryan has put over everybody from Kofi Kingston to Ali to Erick Rowan. Daniel Bryan is the top guy who wants everybody to look good, and that needs to be appreciated. Bryan wins, but Gulak gets a needed showcase. Prediction: Daniel Bryan.
CJ Faria: If given the correct amount of time & proper creative freedom…this match will RULE. Daniel Bryan could put on an entertaining match against a light pole…Drew Gulak is an absolute MACHINE in the ring. It’ll be an incredible match. Bryan is a mark for Professional Wrestling and will put ANYONE over…Gulak winning would be unexpected, but would make sense. Prediction: Drew Gulak.
Jackson McCoy: Big shout-out to Daniel Bryan for working with Gulak, Curtis Axel and Heath Slater the last couple of weeks. Looks like Drake Maverick might also get some run too, and more Drake Maverick on WWE TV is not a bad thing. I expect the match to be a technical showcase in Gulak’s hometown…Daniel Bryan gets the win via submission. Prediction: Daniel Bryan.
Erik Boyer: First, I would like to say that I love what these guys have been doing. Over the course of the last month or two, they have created an interesting, fun character in Drew Gulak, and I think it would be absolutely brilliant for him to actually expose a few of Bryan’s “weaknesses” over the course of the match. That being said, I think that despite being able to handle a loss to Gulak, Bryan ends up winning this one anyway. WWE refuses to shock the world, anymore, so we’ll probably see Daniel Bryan take the win, but we’ll see. I am holding out a sliver of hope that it’ll be Gulak in the winner’s circle after this one. Prediction: Daniel Bryan.
Joe Breaux: Give me Daniel Bryan. Prediction: Daniel Bryan.
PSE Predicts: Daniel Bryan, 4-1.

Andrade (c) vs Humberto Carrillo for the U.S. Championship

JM: Leave it to WWE to give us the same match over and over again. I’d like to think it’s something different, but it isn’t. Carrillo I don’t think is working. I like pretty much everybody but a lot of his offense makes no sense psychologically and the dude is a charisma vacuum. I think these two wrestle as part of a 6 or 8 man ladder match at WrestleMania, but the title does not change just yet. Prediction: Andrade.
CJ: Andrade and Humberto Carrillo will fight for the 117th time in 2020…well not actually, but it seems like that. These are 2 very good workers & promising guys…I don’t know why they’re doing this match again, but the only reasonable expectation is that they’re doing this for Carrillo to finally win…but I’m still going with Andrade. Prediction: Andrade.
JMC: Now that Corbin/Reigns is over, this feud is the one in WWE that I’m most tired of. Fan of both, if you are going to give the title to Humberto, do it here and move on. Why do all the Latino performers on Raw have to feud with each other? Is this some segregation thing?WWE has some cool merch on WWEShop.com. I just went all nWo last night. I got a Syxx-ball nWo shirt, a red Wolfpac shirt, black and white Outsiders nWo shirt, and my favorite…. an Latino World Order shirt! How about all these Latinos form the LWO 2020?! #ANDNEW… Humberto Carrillo (Surprised he still has two names!) Prediction: Humberto Carrillo.
EB: I think Andrade retains and Carillo falls away to obscurity. Andrade and Angel Garza have been booked fairly strong recently and I think that’s smart. I don’t see Andrade losing that title any time soon – especially, not to Carillo, who has been widely reported to have lost favor with Vince, if not Heyman. Prediction: Andrade.
JB: I’m taking Carrillo in the upset of the night. I know the powers that be appeared to be high on Andrade, but I’m not 100% sold that he doesn’t see some type of backlash for the wellness violation. Title change here.
PSE Predicts: Andrade retains, 3-2.

Braun Strowman (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura, Sami Zayn and Cesaro for the Intercontinental Championship

JM: Sami has been a top 3 favorite of mine since his NXT run. Shinsuke has been a favorite of mine since his NJPW days, and I’ve been a big Cesaro fan since The Kings of Wrestling were at their peak. These are 3 of the best talents WWE has and they’re floundering in obscurity and jobbing out everything. This will be no different, and two years ago, it looked like Braun was the next WWE champion. WWE massively misplayed their cards with all 4, but Braun wins. Hopefully, this prompts Shinsuke to attack Zayn. Zayn, turning face, can be the underdog against a heel Shinsuke heading into WrestleMania where they get a 20 minute program, and you still rebuilding babyface Sami Zayn. Prediction: Braun Strowman.
CJ: Braun Strowman will wipe all 3 of these guys out in short-order. They’ll let the heel trio get some heel-like offense off, but it won’t be THAT competitive. They’re going to make Braun look unbeatable & give some much needed credibility to the Intercontinental Championship. Prediction: Braun Strowman.
JMC: I don’t know what purpose this match serves. Let’s take three great individual performers and let them get beat by our monster Intercontinental Champion. Only way this is interesting for me is if Nakamura, Cesaro and Zayn all turn on each other leading to a match. A triple threat between those three would be off the charts… Imagine if it was a triple threat match for a workhorse championship like the Intercontinental Championship? (sigh)… Braun Strowman win by pinfall. Prediction: Braun Strowman.
EB: I think Shinsuke, Sami, and Cesaro win. At least, I certainly hope they do. I’m happy that Braun finally won a singles title, but I don’t see him having a super long reign with it. To have three strong professionals versus one, I would cringe to see them lose in the end. In fact, I am hoping that the three win and it leads to the end of their little alliance, because I would LOVE to see Cesaro FINALLY get a chance to feud over an important (relatively) singles championship. The three of those guys against one another in the ring could spell out C.L.A.S.S.I.C. every single time. Hell, throw Braun into it and have a fatal-fourway at Mania – it could STILL steal the show with his lumbering ass. Prediction: either Sami, Shinsuke or Cesaro win the Intercontinental Championship.
JB: Typical 3 on 1. Strowman dominates early. Heels get the upper hand later on. Strowman mounts comeback. Midcarders are there to take the fall. Strowman retains, the feud dies, and we have a new challenger for Mania. Prediction: Braun Strowman.
PSE Predicts: Braun Strowman retains, 4-1.

The Street Profits (c) vs Buddy Murphy and Seth Rollins for the Raw Tag Team Championships

JM: I just want to say I am very happy for the Street Profits. I’ve followed Dawkins since I first met him in 2014, and Montez since I met him 2 years later. Both are wonderful people and Montez has IT. Expect a great match from 4 great workers, but Street Profits to retain and Rollins other disciples, the Authors of Pain, to enter the title fold. Murphy will be in my aforementioned WrestleMania ladder match as Seth enters his WrestleMania program with Kevin Owens. Prediction: The Street Profits.
CJ: If it weren’t for the tag-team chamber match, this would be match of the night. All 4 of these guys can GO and have terrific chemistry together since they’ve seemingly fought against each other in tag or singles action for the past 2 months straight…but if the matches keep being bangers, I won’t mind ONE bit. The Street Profits will retain & it’ll lead to a rift between Rollins and Murphy afterwards or the next night on RAW. Prediction: The Street Profits.
JMC: Fully expecting some shenanigans with Kevin Owens here. Street Profits retain; push to Owens vs. Rollins at WrestleMania continues. Prediction: The Street Profits.
EB: Having stated that Vince doesn’t respect or like the tag titles enough to build the division around a couple of strong champions, I should say that he does like and respect rising megastars in the making – and Montez Ford is a megastar in the making. I think the Street Profits are booked exceptionally strong from here on out, as it is EASY to see the dollar signs that surround Montez Ford’s aura. The Profits will be booked as the strongest, top face tag team in the company for a year or two before they ultimately split and Ford goes on to main event WrestleManias and SummerSlams. That’s not taking anything away from Angelo Dawkins, as he is very entertaining in his role with the Profits and I think he has a future of his own in the company, but he just doesn’t have the same level of skill set as Ford does – no one really does, right now, to be honest. Prediction: The Street Profits.
JB: We want the smoke!!!! Profits retain! Prediction: The Street Profits.
PSE Prediction: The Street Profits retain, 5-0.

Aleister Black vs AJ Styles, No Disqualification

JM: This may be match of the night, as there are no better performers in WWE than these two. I want Black to win, but I think the OC comes to the aid of the Phenomenal One, and then the Undertaker makes his presence known after. I will say that it disappoints me the Undertaker is wrestling AJ, instead of losing to the Black Mass at WrestleMania. Prediction: AJ Styles.
CJ: This is the toughest match to predict, for me. Aleister Black was unbeatable for AWHILE, until he lost to AJ, last week. I don’t know how to book this match. It’s a No-DQ match, so I don’t know if The Undertaker gets involved to cost AJ the win or if they just have AJ beat Aleister with the help of The OC. It’ll for-sure be interesting, but I’ll go with AJ. Prediction: AJ Styles.
JMC: I’d honestly rather see this at WrestleMania than Styles/Taker. I don’t see them jobbing Styles out before he ultimately jobs to Taker. I’m going to go with OC shenanigans and a Taker appearance resulting in a no contest. Prediction: No contest.
EB: leister Black should win this. No, Aleister Black HAS to win this. Aleister Black NEEDS to win this. My personal (totally straight) affinity for the Dutch Destroyer aside, the WWE needs to create new BIG, BIG stars RIGHT NOW, before they’re doomed to rely on the Undertaker to bring in new subscribers into 2025. The WWE has the opportunity to create a new heir apparent in Black with this win over a legitimate best in the world that doesn’t have much to lose AT THE MOMENT. In six months, perhaps a loss to Black hurts Styles, but right now, he’s doing his thing with the OC and they have been cursed with a half-push that has hurt them more than it has helped them (in my opinion, of course). If Black is going to beat a main eventer like Styles, NOW is the time to do it. I hope to see a streak from Black the likes of which only Goldberg knows (like The Fiend should have had). Let’s hope it starts with this major No-DQ win over AJ Styles. Prediction: Aleister Black.
JB: We see interference from the Club but in the end Aleister goes over with Black Mass. Prediction: Aleister Black.
PSE Predicts: 2-2-1 stalemate.

The Miz and John Morrison (c) vs The New Day vs The Usos vs Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler vs Heavy Machinery vs Lucha House Party, Elimination Chamber Match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships

I’m using this as an excuse to reminisce on chick magnet Miz in that hat and those beautiful belts.

JM: The Revival not being here makes me sad. I genuinely would be bored with anybody winning other than Heavy Machinery and Miz/Morrison. I think Miz and Morrison just winning is too soon to take it off of them, so they’ll lose it at WrestleMania in another multi-team matchup. Be. Jealous. Prediction: John Morrison and The Miz.
CJ: This will be match of the night & I don’t think it’ll be close. Just read the WORKHORSES that are in this match…The Miz, John Morrison, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Big E, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, Otis, Tucker, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik. This match will be absolutely unbelievable and I believe it’ll start the PPV portion of the night to get the crowd red-hot. Oh, yeah, I need to make a prediction…I’m going with Miz and Morrison to retain the titles, here. I think they’ll carry the titles into Mania & then on SmackDown, next Friday, we’ll get a brawl between some mixture of any or all of these teams that’ll lead to a multiple team Ladder match at WrestleMania. Prediction: John Morrison and The Miz.
JMC: I’m not a fan of tag team elimination chamber matches. I’ve enjoyed the return of Miz and Morrison as a tag team, except moments when Morrison talks. Too soon to take the straps off of them after winning them at Blood Money Showdown… Miz and Morrison find a way to escape with the win and retain the titles. Prediction: John Morrison and The Miz.
EB: I think Heavy Machinery take the titles here. WWE is nothing if not predictable, lately. When they find a formula that works, they loosely follow it until the wheels ultimately fall off. Kofi, last year, nearly won a gauntlet match (or won, I don’t quite remember) prior to the Elimination Chamber, where he almost won the WWE Title. This time, I think Heavy Machinery coming up short against Dolph and Roode means they will come up with a win in the Chamber. It’s awfully quick to take the titles off of Miz and Morrison (hey hey, ho ho), but Vince doesn’t respect or even like the tag titles enough to really build the division, so another title change can easily be expected. Prediction: Heavy Machinery.
JB: I don’t see any reason to put the titles on Miz and Morrison, only to pull the belts off them days later. Champs retain. Prediction: John Morrison and The Miz.
PSE Predicts: John Morrison and The Miz, 4-1-0-0-0-0.

Liv Morgan vs Ruby Riott vs Sarah Logan vs Natalya vs Shayna Baszler vs Asuka, Elimination Chamber to determine number 1 contender for Raw Women’s Championship.

JM: Should be a fun match, and I like 5 out of 6 (Natalya bores me to tears), but there won’t be any drama because WWE has shown their hands with Baszler Lynch, which I’m all for. Hopefully this sets up a Riott Squad WrestleMania Triple Threat. I’m fine with it, because that is MONEY and Shayna is made when Becky passes out at WrestleMania. Prediction: Shayna Baszler.
CJ: This match was made to showcase Becky Lynch’s next challenger, Shayna Baszler. She’ll look dominate, she’ll be dominate, she will win this match with ZERO doubt. There’s also the Logan-Liv-Ruby feud mixed into this match that I’m sure will culminate at WrestleMania. Natalya and Asuka are also in this match and I believe they will have a spot together that’ll setup Natalya/Beth Phoenix against the Kabuki Warriors at WrestleMania…Shayna’s the pick. Easiest pick of the night. Prediction: Shayna Baszler.
JMC: Pointless match, we all know where this is going… Shayna gets the win and the title shot against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania. Prediction: Shayna Baszler.
EB: hayna is going to win this match, without a doubt. I would love for it to be Asuka or Liv, just so that they didn’t waste their and our time building them both up in different ways over the last couple of months, but I don’t think you can have Shayna lose this one and still be seen as the alpha-new badass in the division. Shayna takes out Asuka to win the shot at Becky at WrestleMania. Prediction: Shayna Baszler.
JB: The obvious choice here is Shayna. Setting up the match with Becky at Mania. Prediction: Shayna Baszler.
PSE Predicts: Shayna Baszler, 5-0-0-0-0-0.

Joe’s final thoughts: We have no men’s EC match, No WWE Championship match, no Universal Championship match. Conclusion, no reason for me to watch this glorified house show.

Jameus: Obviously the card doesn’t feature many top talents it should, but I think there’ll be some gems. This is a predictable pay-per-view, however, on the road to WrestleMania and has a lot less bite than Revolution a week ago. Do you agree or agree with our experts predictions? Tweet us:
