Phillies Slugger Kyle Schwarber Leaves Game With Groin Tightness

Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarberleft tonight’s game with “left groin tightness,” as per Phillies beat writer John Foley of @PHLY_Sports.

Phillies Manager Rob Thomson sat left fielder Brandon Marsh against Miami Marlins lefty Taylor Rodgers and started Kyle Schwarber in his place.

Schwarber was only making his third start of the year in left field. He normally is the DH, do to bring liability as a fielder.

Marsh was coming off a 4-for-4 game, in which he drove in 4 runs and hit his 7th home run of the season.

Hopefully, it’s just precautionary. Phillies can ill afford to lose Schwarber.
