Phillies Sign Cristopher Sanchez To An Extension

The Philadelphia Phillies are finalizing a four-year contract extension with starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez, as per MLB Network insider Jon Heyman.

Sanchez is 4-3 with a 2.91 ERA in 14 starts. He has given up just one home run and struck out 66 batters in 77 1/3 innings this season.

The 27 year-old Sanchez is 10-10 with a 3.73 ERA in 55 games and 36 starts for his career. He established himself in 2023 with a 3.44 ERA in 19 games.

Sánchez initially signed with the Tampa Bay Rays as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic back in 2013.

The Phillies traded infielder Curtis Mead to aquire Sanchez in a November 2019. He made his MLB debut for the Phillies in 2021.

This is a really good move by the Phillies. It helps to solidify their starting rotation for the next few years.
