Phillies Continue Their Dominance With 35th Victory
The Philadelphia Phillies continue to cruise along with a 5-2 victory over the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers on Tuesday night.
The Phillies now have a 35-14 record to start the 2024 season. They are now 27-6 in their last 33 games. The 35 wins is a MLB best.
Ranger Suarez led the way for the Phillies, striking out 10 batters in 7 innings. He now has a 9-0 record with a 1.36 ERA.
Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper smashed his 11th home run of the season. He went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.
Alec Bohm drove in 2 runs. He now has 44 RBIs for the season.
Kyle Schwarber and Bryson Stott also drove in runs for the Phillies.
Jose Alvarado closed out the win for the Phillies for his ninth save this season.
This Phillies team is special. They have the starting pitching, a big-time offense and play solid defense.
Their pitcher’s shut down the opposition and they get clutch hitting. It’s the first time the Phillies have been 11 games over .500 since May 4, 2011.
