OPINION: An incredible accusation is being made by recently released UFC fighter Diego Sanchez’ controversial coach Joshua Fabia as Fabia is now alleging UFC President Dana White has slept with female UFC fighters. However, a review of Fabia’s history suggests the man may be bat-shit crazy (or in Dana White’s words, “batshit nuts”. White was quoted in a recent Yahoo! Sports article concerning Diego’s release and Diego’s coach Joshua Fabia:
“I have an incredible, amazing relationship with Diego and I like him very much and I hope he is OK. One of the sad things that happens, not just in fighting but in sports, and I want you to quote me on this, are these creepy weirdos who come from God knows where and leech onto fighters or athletes. They never do any good for them.
“Somehow, this creep got into Diego’s life and has been controlling him. You saw the video of him chasing guys in the Octagon with a knife. How [expletive] nuts is that? He goes to the commission and tells them that he’s taught Diego this death touch. It goes on and on with this guy. He goes into the [fighter-broadcaster] production meeting and tells the commentators what they should be saying? The guy is bats*** nuts. He worked his way into Diego’s life and has gotten control over him. I just want the best for Diego.”
In case you missed it, Diego Sanchez was released by the UFC with Yahoo! Sports reporting:
The UFC has been concerned for some time about the behavior of Sanchez’s coach, Joshua Fabia. Sanchez’s release, however, was facilitated because even though Sanchez passed his medicals for a planned May 8 fight versus Donald Cerrone, neither Fabia nor attorney Charles N. Lakins would confirm to the UFC that Sanchez was not suffering from either short-term or long-term medical issues
Here’s what Sanchez’ coach Joshua Fabia told YouTuber John Gibson:
According to a transcript from Fightful.com
Why is nobody talking about [that] the reckoning happened and somehow Dana White gets to fuck fighters? How many female fighters has he had sex with? How many female fighters has Sean Shelby had sex with?” Fabia asked. “This is the truth, man. So let’s just get real.”
“There is a lot of dirty ridiculousness and if you don’t want to clean it up or address it and do this, yeah man, I do have to show videos. I do have to show things because nobody else has recorded anything. Nobody else has protected themselves. Nobody else has protected their fighter.”
All claims of assault should be taken seriously, but let’s step back for a moment and consider who is making the claims-a controversial coach whose fighter was just released from the UFC. Fabia’s comments sound like those of someone who is full of shit with an axe to grind. Fabia’s past antics make these claims impossible to believe. Fabia seems to be motivated by revenge rather than justice. If White did engage in inappropriate relationships, why didn’t Fabia get some of the alleged victims to step forward and help them seek justice? Fabia’s comments stink of bullshit and they also serve as a reminder of what a nutjob he appears to be. Here are two instances of Fabia’s foolishness as reported by Yahoo! Sports:
On the night of the fight, Fabia reportedly told a member of the Nevada Athletic Commission staff that he’d taught Sanchez a choke that, if Sanchez applied it properly, could either paralyze or kill Chiesa. Chiesa won that fight by unanimous decision and Sanchez did not try any holds in the bout that seemed unusual.
Sanchez posted video of Fabia in an Octagon at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas in which the coach held a knife and was chasing fighters around the cage. It was a training method of some sort, but clearly was dangerous and not one employed by other professional MMA trainers.
So had Dana White banged UFC fighters? Anything is possible but anyone familiar with Joshua Fabia has to be doubtful.
