One of 10 Illegal Immigrants Arrested in Traffic Stop in Upper Peninsula Was a Convicted Drug Dealer

It turns out one of 10 illegal immigrants that were arrested was a convicted drug dealer that was removed three prior times.

According to a report from MLive.com, the traffic stop happened after United States Border Patrol agents from Sault Ste. Marie post pulled over a white Chevrolet van in Munising last Monday.

After being questioned by the agents, the driver and all nine passengers admitted to being in the United States illegally.

Four of those immigrants turned out to previously be removed from the country and one was a drug dealer, named Jose Bernal-Medeles, out of Mexico.

Bernal-Medeles was convicted of charges regarding narcotics as well as in the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin. He was also removed from the United States in the years 2001, 2007, and 2015.

Bernal-Medeles and three other individuals were sent away from the United States and into custody of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO).

The remaining individuals are being held pending removal actions or proceedings.
