On Wednesday Novak Djokovic appeared vulnerable on a tennis court for the first time in a long time. While the top-seeded Serb rebounded from a desultory opening set to defeat Pablo Carreno Busta 4-6 6-2 6-3 6-4 he was clearly struggling with an injury to his upper-left arm and neck area. Djokovic appeared physically uncomfortable throughout the match but Carreno Busta isn’t buying it.

Probably the last years he’s always doing this when he has problems on court Carreno Busta said after the match. I don’t know maybe it’s the pressure or something that he needs to do it. But I mean he continues playing normal no? I don’t know if he’s pain really or he has mental. Ask him.

Those are strong words from the understandably frustrated Spaniard but Vegas seems to believe it s more physical than mental. Djokovic is listed as just a -280 favorite to defeat Stefanos Tsitsipas on Friday a surprisingly low price for a player who hasn t lost a completed match all year. The Greek’s phenomenal form in his 7-5 6-2 6-3 victory over Andrey Rublev could have something to do with it, but a perfectly healthy Djokovic in a Grand Slam semifinal would typically be in the -400 or -500 range against anyone outside of the Big 3. Tsitsipas defeated Djokovic in their first-ever meeting at the 2018 Rogers Cup and beat him again a year later in Shanghai but has lost the last two encounters in straight sets 6-1 6-2 at the 2019 Paris Masters and 6-3 6-4 earlier this year in Dubai.

According to the Greek Djokovic’s injury doesn’t exist.
I have to play the way I have to play Tsitsipas said in press. We might as well just forget about it because I’m approaching that match with the same intensity and the same focus that I’ve been doing the last few matches.
Djokovic is the clear favorite but Tsitsipas matches up with the world No. 1 about as well as anyone can hope. Historically, Tsitsipas struggles with big serves to his one-handed backhand. The Djokovic serve is underrated but it’s not big enough to deny Tsitsipas entry into his service games.

Djokovic drop shots early and often on red clay but Tsitsipas covers the net better than almost anyone in the game. He won 16 of 17 points at net against Rublev on Wednesday.

Bringing the hyper-athletic Greek to the net isn’t always the best idea, as Djokovic found out in Shanghai:

Novak Djokovic will be going head to head against Stefanos Tsitsipas today in the Men’s Single French Open semi-final. The Djokovic vs Tsitsipas game will begin at 8.30 pm IST. This will be the Serb’s 10th career semi-final at Roland Garros.

Djokovic who is World No.1 has been in great form in the tournament as the Serb has lost just one set in five matches. He lost that set against Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta in the game that took place on Wednesday.

On the other hand Tsitsipas, who is at the fifth spot in the rankings has also had a good tournament as of now. Although he has had a smooth journey in the French Open 2020, he faced a tough competition in the first round against Jaume Munar. The Greek in that fixture went down two sets to love but he bounced back getting the better of the opponent in five.

The upcoming match against Djokovic will be Tsitsipas’ first career semi-final at Roland Garros. The Greek has been in good shape and looks fully fit, while the Serb’s left arm seemed to be creating trouble for him at the start, but he overcame that to deliver a good performance in the tournament. It is being said that if his problem persists, it could hamper his win in the semi-final.

The two have locked horns with each other five times on the tour so far. Out of these five games Djokovic emerged victorious in three and Tsitsipas in two.Tsitsipas in the semi-final would try to make most of Djokovic’s hand problem to reach his maiden Grand Slam Final.Where to watch the French Open 2020 Men’s Singles Novak Djokovic vs Stefanos Tsitsipas semi-final match live in India (TV channels)?Djokovic will be facing Tsitsipas in the French Open 2020 Men’s Singles Semi-Final at 8.30 PM IST on October 9. There is plenty riding on this match between world number one Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas not least the fitness of Djokovic after he exhibited plenty of aches and strains in his quarter-final match with Pablo Carreno Busta. The Serb masterfully came through that match despite his clear body problems and his chances in this match will rely heavily on how well he can recover. An injured Novak Djokovic can still battle with the best of them but Tsitsipas dominant performance against Andrey Rublev, who had beaten him only 10 days before suggests the Greek has a real chance at reaching his first Grand Slam final here. After a shaky first round five-setter against Jaume Muna the Greek has lived a charmed life at the French Open and will have significantly more energy than his opponent.

Therefore, the longer this match takes it would seem the better chance Tsitsipas has to overcome Djokovic. The Serb will know he needs to beat his opponent early and efficiently but so much rides on his fitness here it would be hard to make a logical call for the winner. Both players taking a set seems a reasonable option in the betting markets but this in turn muddies the waters for the result. Djokovic’s sheer will to reach the final makes him the “heart favourite but his fitness issues shades the “head” vote to the world number five. In French Open today is the Men’s Singles Semi-Finals night. Two of the world’s greatest tennis players Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal with 36 Grand Slam titles between them are both just two wins away from creating more tennis history at Roland Garros but standing in the way in Friday’s semi-finals are Stefanos Tsitsipas and Diego Schwartzman.Nadal vs Schwartzman Live Streaming : French Open Semifinals Nadal vs Schwartzman Live @ 6.20PM ISTNadal the 12-time champion arrived in Paris virtually writing off his chances of equalling Roger Federer’s all-time record of 20 Grand Slam titles. However the 34-year-old stands on the brink of a 13th Roland Garros final without dropping a set and having spent three and a half hours fewer than Schwartzman in getting to the semi-finals.

He remains cautious over his chances at a tournament being played in the cold and chill of autumn rather than is traditional May-June slot and after finishing his quarter-final against Jannik Sinner at 01:30 on Wednesday morning he said it was dangerous for the body with these very heavy conditions Nadal’s late night on Tuesday was mostly caused by Schwartzman needing more than five hours to defeat US Open champion and third seed Dominic Thiem in five sets to reach his maiden semi-final at the majors. Nadal will be playing his 34th.

However Schwartzman will be buoyed by defeating Nadal for the first time in 10 attempts on clay in Rome on the eve of Roland Garros. Affectionately known as El Peque shorty 28-year-old Schwartzman is a mere 5ft 6in (1.68m) and the smallest player in the world’s top 50.

I’m still in the tournament and I really want to keep winning said Schwartzman having won his first Grand Slam quarter-final after three previous failures.
