Both the NFL and NFLPA are busy negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA), but the executive director has started to advise players of another possible lockout.
NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith has warned players that a possible work stoppage could take place after the 2020 season.
In a tweet by the Bleacher Report, Smith said the work stoppage could last ‘at least a year.’

With the NFL’s current CBA set to expire, both sides are in phases of striking a new deal. However, there is no clear indication on when and whether the extension could be announced.
CBA talks will linger over as this year’s regular season opens on Sept. 9 as the Green Bay Packers visit the Chicago Bears to commemorate the NFL’s 100th anniversary.
