The NFL Prediction Series now shifts to the NFC conference.

With talented teams on display, it will be a blood bath throughout just to get the chance to go to the Super Bowl.

Here’s where I rank the NFC East division based on their records and season preview.

DISCLAIMER: these predictions are based off of opinions and facts. Fans with their opinions are welcome.

Dallas Cowboys

I wonder which Dallas Cowboys team we’re going to see this year? The one that could potentially make a run for the NFC crown? Or the one who underachieves when given all the national media hype they can muster?

That answer will be determined if the team can get a steady run together. Injuries and inconsistent play almost hindered that last season.

Now we’re back with the Ezekiel Elliott drama (due to a holdout on contract negotiations this time).

This will question again if quarterback Dak Prescott can lead the team without him. It showed that he could, but offensive line problems was the downfall for them two years ago.

Dallas has a steady core of great playmakers on both sides, but can they mesh together for a run? We will see.

New York Giants

This regular season could be just like offseason and season before: very painful.

In my eyes, I am still questioning if the Giants are rebuilding or not. Baffling moves such as trading their wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to Cleveland to signing slot receiver Golden Tate and then selecting Duke quarterback Daniel Jones at No. 6 overall (sorry Giants fans).

Training camp has gotten worse for them as they lost almost all of their wide receivers either to suspension or injury to start out the season. Key words: almost all.

However, they do have a few key pieces to help the Giants stay close and potentially win games. I expect running back Saquon Barkley to continue proving he’s worth being a franchise player.

But everyone, and myself, are still looking out for Eli Manning. We hope he doesn’t turn into an interception like fans have made fun of him for.

The team are on their ‘baby steps’ year this year. Just hope everything will go to plan for them.

Philadelphia Eagles

Philly had a tough time getting back to the playoffs last year, and quarterback Carson Wentz’s injury problems have part of the cause.

Wentz did earn a massive payday, but I would like to see him make a full season with the full roster he’s got now.

Besides having tight ends Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert on the offense, the Eagles will face some issues on the wide receivers group.

I should expect the defense to step up, especially with signing defensive tackle Malik Jackson to the defensive line. We should see them go toe-to-toe with their rivals, it’s just a matter of them being the team we expect them to be.

Washington Redskins

As pictured above, the quarterback position was hit hard last season and the Redskins addressed it heavily and efficiently via the offseason and the Draft by trading for Case Keenum from Denver and drafting Dwayne Haskins from Ohio State.

And now it will be an interesting battle position-wise.

Another position battle to look out for is at running back. With Adrian Peterson returning to the Redskins, he will have to get some good reps in as he faces Derrius Guice (coming off a lost rookie season due to a torn ACL) and new rookie back Bryce Love.

The Redskins have some good young and stout players on both sides. Such as wide receiver Josh Doctson and defensive linemen DaRon Payne and Jonathan Allen.

But my biggest concern for them is coaching. I personally think if Jay Gruden doesn’t make the playoffs with this team, he’ll likely be out as head coach.

Youth is starting develop very well down in Washington, it’s just the matter if they can get their best results in a consistent matter. It should be a good season for them.

Season Record Projections:

1) Dallas Cowboys 11-5*

2) Philadelphia Eagles 9-7

3) Washington Redskins 7-9

4) New York Giants 5-11

Summary: The NFC East should be in for a tight battle this year, but I believe that Elliott will end his holdout and come back to the Cowboys and eventually will help lead them to the playoffs and win the division.

With the schedule featuring as all four NFC East facing the NFC North teams as determined earlier last Spring, I would think it will be believed that the Eagles do miss out on the playoffs barely by losing to either one of those opposing teams.
