While Brian Cashman was sleeping on the streets to raise awareness for charity 24 hours ago, he was also taking care of the roster for the New York Yankees and made some roster moves on Friday night.
On Friday, the Yankees announced that they have designated Clint Frazier, Rougned Odor and Tyler Wade for assignment.
With Frazier, Odor and Wade being DFA’ed, the Yankees now have 10 days to either trade them, send them to the minor leagues or release them.
Frazier was once seen as a promising outfielder and was at one time the starting left fielder for the Yankees, but concussions have been an issue for Frazier and could rob him of a once promising career.
Odor was acquired at the beginning of the season due to the Yankees needing an extra hitter; he hit .202 with 15 homers and 39 RBI.
Wade was always considered the Yankees super utility player, appearing in 103 games and hitting .268 with no home runs, five RBI and 17 steals.
