Hell hath no fury like a scorned owner in negotiations.

New York Mets owner Steve Cohen took to Twitter to vent his unhappiness about how Steven Matz spurned the New York Mets for the St. Louis Cardinals, as Matz ended up,agreeing to a 4-year, $44 million deal with St. Louis on Tuesday night.

The agent Cohen is upset with, Rob Martin, responded to Cohen’s comments about him.

Cohen and the Mets felt like they were played by the agent.

In the end, the agent will always do what is best for the player and not the team. The Mets will just have to look elsewhere for pitching since Matz is now off the market and headed to the Cardinals.
